Election26: Migal Seriously Considering Running for Presov Governor

Presov, 24 April (TASR) - Investment, Regional Development and Informatisation Minister Samuel Migal (Independent) is earnestly considering running for the post of Presov self-governing region chair, TASR was told by the ministry's communications department on Friday. "As part of his activities in the regions, including Presov region, he communicates with the public, mayors and experts, and he recognises their long-standing need for positive change in the region," stated the communications department, adding that he'll make his decision after carefully considering all circumstances and will announce it to the public in the near future. The combined elections for municipal self-government bodies and regional self-government bodies are scheduled for 24 October. House Chair Richard Rasi (Voice-SD) hasn't yet officially announced them, but he confirmed for TASR that they will take place on this date. Milan Majersky (Christian Democrats/KDH) will attempt to defend his post as Presov governor, while MEP Milan Mazurek (Republic) and businessman Marian Geci have also announced their candidacies. am/df
