Bratislava, 22 April (TASR) - The opposition Christian Democrats (KDH) have repeatedly declared that they view the construction of hospitals as a priority, but they won't sign a "blank cheque", KDH MPs Peter Stachura and Frantisek Majersky told a press conference on Wednesday in response to President Peter Pellegrini's letter regarding the continuation of hospital construction after the 2027 parliamentary elections. At the same time, the MPs reiterated KDH's demands in this context, proposing that a working group should be set up and that the total cost of completing hospital construction should be revealed. "We want to know the exact price required for completing the construction of all hospitals to a standard suitable for receiving patients. We want to know where this money will come from, which is why we want a working group to be set up to address the issue of securing resources for completing the construction of hospitals. And thirdly, we demand that their completion should be carried out economically," said Stachura. Majersky added that they are sending a letter regarding the matter to the head of state and to Health Minister Kamil Sasko (Voice-SD), calling for a round-table discussion and the setting up of a working group. jrg/df
