Bratislava, 22 April (TASR) - All units at Slovakia's nuclear power plants are operating safely, while the fourth block of the Mochovce plant has undergone inactive testing, according to a report on nuclear safety and the activities of the Nuclear Regulatory Authority (UJD) for 2025, which the government acknowledged on Wednesday.
As part of its oversight and inspection activities in 2025, UJD issued 578 decisions and carried out a total of 190 planned and unplanned inspections.
"The number and nature of events at nuclear facilities in 2025 remained within the range of usual operational faults without particular significance from the point of view of nuclear safety," states the report.
According to the report, no rapid reactor shutdowns were recorded in 2025. Breaches of limits and conditions occurred at the Jaslovske Bohunice nuclear power plant, once in the third block and once in the fourth.
In 2025, based on an inspection of the third block of the Mochovce nuclear power plant in 2023, the authority imposed a fine of €332,000 on energy utility Slovenske elektrarne for violations of certain provisions of the Atomic Act.
Operations at other nuclear facilities, including the Bohunice spent fuel interim storage facility, the Mochovce national radioactive waste repository, and the integral radioactive waste storage facility, were assessed as safe in 2025, as was the transport of radioactive waste.
