ARDAL: Slovakia Sells Nearly €517 million in Government Bond Auction in April

Bratislava, 20 April (TASR) - Slovakia sold government bonds totalling €516.8 million in the regular monthly auction, with their maturity periods ranging between two and ten years and the average annual interest rates between 2.67 and 3.64 percent, the Debt and Liquidity Management Agency (ARDAL) reported on Monday, adding that total demand from investors reached €1.619 billion. The highest sum (€221.8 million) came from the longest-maturity bonds (due in 2036), with an average accepted yield standing at 3.64 percent. Bonds maturing in 2029 and 2031 were sold in a volume of €100 million each, with average yields coming in at 2.83 percent and 3.10 percent p.a., respectively. Bonds with the shortest maturity period (due in 2028) and the lowest yield of 2.67 percent p.a. brought in €95 million. In the regular auction in March, Slovakia borrowed €643 million, with the average yield ranging from 3.05 percent p.a. to 4.24 percent p.a. and total demand from investors reaching €839 million. In that month, ARDAL was also selling a new issue of bonds intended for ordinary citizens through commercial banks, receiving €417 million in total.
