Bratislava, 15 April (TASR) - The chair of the Judicial Council, Marcela Kosova, has announced a new election for the post of chair of the Supreme Administrative Court (NSS), scheduled for 11 August, said the Judicial Council Office on Wednesday.
The timing of the election is linked to the expiry of current president Pavol Nad's term of office, which ends on 18 May.
Eligible nominators may submit their candidates to Kosova by 8 May. "Proposals delivered after the deadline and those that don't meet all legal requirements will not be considered," warned the council office.
The Judicial Council failed to elect a new NSS president at its meeting on Tuesday (14 April). Two candidates were in the race: Katarina Benczova, nominated by five NSS judges, and Petra Pribelska, nominated by 14 NSS judges and judicial councils from administrative courts in Bratislava, Banska Bystrica and Kosice. Neither candidate secured enough votes from council members.
