Judicial Council Fails to Elect New Head of Supreme Administrative Court

14. apríla 2026 15:26
Bratislava, 14 April (TASR) - At its meeting on Tuesday, the Judicial Council didn't elect either of the two candidates for the post of Supreme Administrative Court (NSS) chair. The candidates for the post were Katarina Benczova, nominated by five NSS judges, and Petra Pribelska, nominated by 14 NSS judges and the judicial councils of the Administrative Courts in Bratislava, Banska Bystrica, and Kosice. Neither received a sufficient number of votes from the Judicial Council members. On 9 January, Judicial Council head Marcela Kosova announced that an election for the post of NSS chair would take place on 14 April, doing so because the term of office of current NSS chair Pavol Nad expires on 18 May. am/df
