Bratislava, 13 April (TASR) - I'll provide proper and timely information regarding the possible initiation of disciplinary proceedings against STS judge Pamela Zaleska, chairman of the Specialised Criminal Court (STS) Michal Truban stated on Monday in response to statements made by Premier Robert Fico (Smer-SD) on Friday (10 April), TASR has been told by STS spokesperson Iveta Pulman Erdelyiova. "I can assure both the professional and lay public that, as the chair of the court with disciplinary authority, I have duly familiarised myself with the cited decision of the appellate panel of the Supreme Court in the case of the accused JUDr. D. K., PhD. [name abbreviated due to legal reasons]," stated Truban, adding that he's currently analysing the decision in a manner commensurate with the gravity and scope of the established facts. "The public will be duly and timely informed of my decision regarding whether I'll file a disciplinary motion," added Truban. Prime Minister Fico announced on Friday plans to file a criminal complaint against judge Pamela Zaleska on suspicion of the abuse of public office, claiming that Zaleska ruled with bias in the case of former special prosecutor Dusan K. He cited the Supreme Court's ruling of appeal, which in December 2025 overturned both the Supreme Court's original judgment and STS's ruling. He also wants Justice Minister Boris Susko (Smer-SD) to file disciplinary charges against Zaleska. Following the premier's statements Zaleska said on Friday that she won't respond to statements made by politicians, defendants or their legal representatives. According to her, for a judge, what is said in the courtroom is important, not what is said at press conferences or in the media. On 11 December 2025, the Supreme Court ruled on an appeal filed by Justice Minister Susko in the case of the accused former head of the Special Prosecutor's Office (USP) Dusan K. It overturned a 2022 ruling of the Supreme Court, as well as a 2021 ruling of the Specialised Criminal Court (STS). In May 2022, the Supreme Court definitively sentenced Dusan K. to eight years in prison for accepting a bribe and disclosing information from case files. It also imposed a fine of €100,000 on him. am/df
