Bratislava, 13 April (TASR) - Responding to the preliminary results of the Hungarian general election, President Peter Pellegrini believes that the level of relations between Slovakia and Hungary will remain high, as seen in recent years, according to his statement provided by the President's Office to TASR on Sunday (12 April).
"The people of Hungary have decided on the composition of their parliament in democratic elections. I believe that relations between Slovakia and Hungary will remain at the high level seen in recent years, and will continue to be based on mutual respect, cooperation, joint membership of the European Union and the North Atlantic Alliance, good neighbourliness and friendship," stated Pellegrini.
Based on the partial results of Sunday's general election in Hungary, opposition leader Peter Magyar's TISZA party is in a dominant position, with incumbent Prime Minister and Fidesz party leader Viktor Orban describing the result as "painful".
