Bratislava, 9 April (TASR) - The fourth annual 'Sakura and Art Festival', due to take place in Bratislava on Friday and Saturday (10 and 11 April), will once again combine the themes of the arrival of spring and the blooming of Japanese cherry blossom trees with a rich cultural programme, the event's organisers informed TASR on Thursday. "Admiration for beauty and art brings people together regardless of the country they come from. I'm very pleased that the people of Bratislava are increasingly discovering not only beauty, but also Japanese culture, aesthetics and way of life," said project's author Vladimir Grezo, inviting the public to explore the customs of the Land of the Rising Sun and to come and see the programme in Bratislava's boroughs of Karlova Ves and Dubravka. The festival follows up an initiative of the Japanese Embassy in Slovakia, via which the sakura tree has become a symbol of friendship and enhances many locations across Bratislava and Slovakia. The festival has been organised by the Bratislava Cultural Hub in cooperation with the Japanese Embassy in Slovakia, the boroughs of Karlova Ves and Dubravka, and other partners. ko/df
