Bratislava, 2 April (TASR) - The state budget saw a deficit of €1.868 billion at the end of March 2026, which was a deterioration of €420.6 million, or 29.1 percent year-on-year (y-o-y), the Finance Ministry reported on Thursday.

Bratislava, 2 April (TASR) - Slovakia sold government bonds with a total nominal value of €4.441 billion in the first quarter of this year, including €2.024 billion via regular monthly auctions, €2 billion via syndicated sales, and €417 million via bonds intended for ordinary people, the Debt and Liquidity Management Agency (ARDAL) announced in its latest monthly report for March 2026.

Bratislava, 2 April (TASR) - Public-broadcaster Slovak Television and Radio (STVR) has condemned an incident that occurred outside the District Court building in Nove Zamky (Nitra region) on Monday (30 March), when STVR reporter Ivan Brada was attacked after requesting a comment, said STVR general-director Martina Flasikova in a statement sent to TASR by STVR spokesperson Zuzana Vicelova on Thursday.

Bratislava, 2 April (TASR) - Differences in diesel prices for domestic and foreign vehicles have deepened this week, with foreign drivers currently paying 34 cents more per litre, the Financial Policy Institute (IFP) reported on social media on Wednesday (1 April), citing sales data from one of the largest petrol station operators.
