BRIEF: NDS Launches Tender for Constructing Two Sections of R2 Expressway

Bratislava, 30 March (TASR) - The National Highway Company (NDS) has launched public tenders for two new stretches of the R2 expressway in southern central Slovakia totalling 14.6 kilometres in length, Transport Minister Jozef Raz (a Smer-SD nominee) stated on Monday. The stretches are the 8.3-kilometre Zacharovce-Batka section and the 6.3-kilometre Batka-Figa section in Rimavska Sobota district (Banska Bystrica region). Raz noted that NDS has already sent notices regarding the public tenders for publication in the official journal. The estimated cost of constructing the R2 Zacharovce-Batka section is €242 million, while for the R2 Batka-Figa section it's €152.5 million, excluding value-added tax.
