Bratislava, 30 March (TASR) - The Defence Ministry has announced a tender for a framework agreement for servicing Bombardier Global 5000 aircraft, according to documents published in the Public Procurement Office's (UVO) bulletin. The ministry expects the value of the framework agreement not to exceed €10 million. In the contract description, the ministry requires the future supplier to provide both routine and extraordinary maintenance of the aircraft. "To carry out unforeseen repairs that fall outside the scope of the approved procedures of the manufactures of the aircraft, engines, auxiliary power units and other equipment of the Global 5000 aircraft in cooperation with the manufacturers and approved organisations for these types of activities," the ministry specified in the documents. Those interested have until the end of April to submit their bids. The framework contract should be signed for four years. The Defence Ministry purchased two Bombardier Global 5000 transport aircraft for almost 48 million USD (nearly €46 million) in late 2024. The opposition criticised the purchase. It views such an investment as unnecessary at the time of consolidation and when economic growth is slowing down. The ministry argued that the aircraft would also be used, for example, to transport citizens with serious health issues from abroad. ko/df
