Stats: Industrial Producer Prices Down 0.4 percent Y-o-Y in February 2026

Bratislava, 27 March (TASR) - Industrial producer prices for the domestic market decreased by 0.4 percent year-on-year (y-o-y) in February 2026, while going up by 0.2 percent in monthly terms, the Statistics Office reported on Friday. Six of the 16 monitored branches of industry posted price drops in February. Price declines were reported in the production of means of transport (down 1.6 percent), in the production of food, beverages and tobacco (1.9 percent) and in the energy sector, which is strong in terms of market share (0.4 percent). Conversely, the steepest hike in producer prices was posted in the manufacture of metals and metal constructions (2.2 percent). Two months into 2026, industrial producer prices were 0.8 percent lower than a year ago. Prices of industrial products for export in February were 1.3 percent higher than the year before, while they decreased by 0.2 percent on a monthly basis. In January-February 2026, prices of industrial products for export rose 0.8 percent y-o-y. ko
