Duslo Sala Considering €200-million Fertiliser Line Investment

Sala/Bratislava, 26 March (TASR) – The Duslo Sala chemicals company is considering building a new granulation line worth up to €200 million, with the final decision expected by the end of this year, its general director Pavel Hanus has confirmed. The investment will depend on stable and reasonably priced energy market conditions, its overall efficiency and the availability of financial support for the project, said Hanus. The company is assessing a new universal granulation line as part of plans to modernise its fertiliser production. While Duslo currently produces various types of granulated fertilisers on its existing line, the facility is technologically outdated and morally obsolete and will require either replacement or at least modernisation. "A tender is currently under way, and we'll see what price emerges from it. The expected investment ranges from €150 million to €200 million," said Hanus. Prime Minister Robert Fico (Smer-SD), following talks with the Duslo management on Tuesday (24 March), confirmed that both sides will discuss possible state support for the investment. "This investment in a modern line would be a significant contribution to economic growth. If implementation begins in 2027, possibly partly in 2026, and is completed between 2028 and 2029, the volume of funds involved would be a meaningful boost to economic growth," said the prime minister. mf/df
