Government Allocates over €1.8 million for Districts of Komarno, Levice and Sala

Bratislava, 24 March (TASR) - At its away-from-home session in the village of Hronske Klacany (Levice district) on Tuesday, the government allocated €1.888 million for the districts of Komarno, Levice and Sala (all three Nitra region).
Of this sum, more than €1.7 million is intended for specific projects of local governments and organisations operating in the given districts. The cabinet at its session dealt with the social-economic situations in the selected districts and proposals for improving them.
In addition to dozens of smaller items, the government passed some bigger allocations. For example, it earmarked €45,000 for equipping a newly built day-care centre for the elderly in the municipality that hosted Tuesday's session. Hronske Klacany can also use €15,000 to organise municipal festivities.
Premier Robert Fico (Smer-SD) after the session expressed his appreciation for the welcome by the local authorities and the conditions created for the session. He also announced that the cabinet approved a contribution to repair a church roof in the village.
Concerning other contributions, €30,000 has been allocated to the town of Komarno for reconstructing its thermal spa, a nursery and a primary school, and for constructing an observation tower at the confluence of the Vah and Danube Rivers. Komarno also received €40,000 from the government for renovating rooms in a dormitory that houses students of J. Selye University.
The government approved €30,000 for the town of Sala to reconstruct and modernise facilities owned by the local government and organisations funded by it. The 'Astronomy Without Barriers' project of the Slovak National Observatory was supported by the cabinet with €20,000, while the town of Levice can use €19,000 to renovate the floor of its sports hall.
The cabinet also approved €15,000 to help create inspirational rooms across Slovakia, dedicated to globally successful Slovaks.
After discussing the social-economic situation and selected problems of all three districts, the government approved a resolution including specific tasks assigned to individual ministries and ministers in this regard.
