Prague, 23 March (TASR-correspondent) - At its meeting on Monday, the Czech government approved a memorandum on enhanced cooperation with the Slovak cabinet, Czech Vice-premier and Industry and Trade Minister Karel Havlicek announced following the meeting, TASR's special correspondent in Prague has reported. Havlicek also noted that a joint meeting of the Slovak and Czech governments is due to take place next week. "We can confirm that next Tuesday [31 March], for the first time in two years, we'll finally have a meeting at government level, a working-level meeting between the Czech and Slovak governments. We've discussed some details. I consider it to be good news that all ministers have already met their counterparts on the Slovak side, so this will be of a highly working nature," said Havlicek. The joint government meeting will take place at Nova Horka Castle in Moravian-Silesian region. The last planned inter-governmental consultations, which were scheduled for late April or early May 2024, didn't take place. The Czech government at the time suspended them, citing disagreement with certain steps taken by the Slovak government in the area of foreign policy, in particular Slovakia's stance on the war in Ukraine. Previously, the two governments had met in Trencin in April 2023. am/df
