Bratislava, 20 March (TASR) - Slovakia has so far sold, via commercial banks, government bonds for the public totalling €413 million, the Finance Ministry reported on Friday, adding that the Investor II bond has now been sold out.
"Patriot II remains on sale through Friday, which is also the last day on which people can buy government bonds at commercial bank branches or in electronic form," said the ministry.
The ministry stressed that the total bond sales exceeded the €400-million threshold set before the increase in subscriptions. The sale of bonds for the public has thus met the goals presented by the Finance Ministry and the Debt and Liquidity Management Agency (ARDAL) regarding government securities' issues in 2026.
People have bought up all the Investor II bonds at a total value of €250 million with a two-year maturity and a net non-taxable yield of 2.7 percent p.a. "The extraordinary demand for this kind of bond has confirmed that increasing the issue by an additional €50 million was justified. The sale of the Investor II bond has already been concluded, as it has been completely sold out," added the Finance Ministry. People have so far invested €163 million in the second kind of bond, Patriot II, with a four-year maturity and a net non-taxable yield of 3 percent p.a., which remains on sale.
