Bratislava, 19 March (TASR) - Opposition Progressive Slovakia (PS) representatives questioned the financing of further construction work on the hospitals in Martin, Banska Bystrica and Presov at a press conference on Thursday.
MP Oskar Dvorak (PS) pointed out that the projects have secured funding from the recovery plan only as far as the shell construction stage. PS has therefore called on Health Minister Kamil Sasko (Voice-SD) to state clearly how and from what the work will be financed.
"We need to have money clearly allocated in the budget right now, we need to have funding designated for these hospitals so that we can complete them, finish their external structures, do various pieces of finishing work and purchase equipment," stated Dvorak. He expressed concern that the hospitals may not be completed and that Slovakia will remain a construction site. He therefore called on government officials to guarantee money to complete the health-care facilities. "And not bury their heads in the sand, leaving it for the next government to deal with," he added.
