dnes 10:10
Bratislava, 17 March (TASR) - The value of new orders in industry reached €5.24 billion in January 2026, representing a year-on-year decrease of 2.3 percent, which means the decline thus continued for the fourth consecutive month, the Statistics Office reported on Tuesday. After seasonal adjustment, new industrial orders in January 2026 increased by 5.9 percent compared with December 2025. On a y-o-y basis, the decline in the first month of 2026 was recorded in ten of the twelve monitored industrial sectors. The overall development was most significantly affected by a drop in orders in the manufacture of motor vehicles, trailers and semi-trailers (down 1.5 percent), manufacture of machinery and equipment not elsewhere classified (down 4.9 percent), and manufacture of electrical equipment (down 6.8 percent). Orders saw a y-o-y increase only in the manufacture of other transport equipment (up 58 percent) and in the manufacture of basic pharmaceutical products and pharmaceutical preparations (up 3.7 percent). mf
