Stats: Slovakia Posted Trade-balance Surplus of €2.8 billion Last Year

Bratislava, 11 March (TASR) - Exports of goods for the whole of 2025 increased by 3.8 percent year-on-year (y-o-y) to €110.9 billion, while imports rose by 3.9 percent to €108.1 billion, according to revised data published by the Statistics Office on Wednesday.
Slovakia thus showed a trade-balance surplus of €2.8 billion last year. In 2024, its trade-balance surplus amounted to €2.7 billion.
Concerning major trading partners, Slovakia's export volumes increased y-o-y as follows: to Germany - 3.8 percent, to the Czech Republic - 6.5 percent, to Hungary - 3.5 percent, to Poland - 3.8 percent, and to Austria - 5 percent. Conversely, exports to the United States fell by 18.1 percent and those to China dropped by 27.6 percent.
Meanwhile, Slovakia increased its imports as follows: from the Czech Republic - 0.6 percent, from China - 11.2 percent, from Poland - 2 percent, from Vietnam - 14.5 percent, and from Italy - 4.6 percent. In contrast, imports from Germany declined by 4 percent, while those from South Korea fell by 10.9 percent and those from Russia by 13 percent.
