Bratislava, 7 March (TASR) - The capital city plans to apply for final approval for the new tram line in Bratislava's borough of Petrzalka during the spring, TASR has been told by Bratislava spokesperson Peter Bubla.
Last summer, the city council announced that it would like to have the new tram line approved in the first quarter of 2026, but it noted that this wasn't "entirely in our own hands".
"Final inspections are currently underway in Petrzalka borough and at the capital city's special building authority, while applications for final inspections of other buildings are being prepared. We'll apply for the overall final inspection in the spring," stated Bubla.
Intensive work is now underway on the transfer hub on Panonska Road, where tram and bus transport will be connected. The construction work also includes a bridge connection near the Technopol building.
