Foreign Minister Blanar Speaks on Phone with Head of Omani Diplomacy

Bratislava, 4 March (TASR) - Foreign and European Affairs Minister Juraj Blanar (Smer-SD) spoke on the phone with his Omani counterpart Badr Al Busaidi on Wednesday to discuss mediation in the Middle East, the current situation in Oman and the repatriation of Slovak citizens, TASR has been told by the ministry's communications department. "During our telephone conversation today, the foreign affairs minister of the Sultanate of Oman, Badr Al Busaidi, assured me that Oman is prepared to continue its mediation in the Middle East, which it has so far carried out between the United States and Iran. The Slovak Republic fully supports these peace efforts, and we call for immediate de-escalation and a return to diplomatic negotiations," said Blanar, praising Oman's efforts, which, according to him, support diplomacy and dialogue as tools that must replace military attacks. Blanar further explained that he had expressed his solidarity with his Omani counterpart in connection with security incidents. According to him, Badr Al Busaidi informed him that the situation in his country is currently stable. He also mentioned the repatriation of Slovak citizens from Oman. More than 600 of them are registered. He also thanked the minister for his coordination and cooperation in arranging permits for Slovak government aircraft. am/df
