Kiev, 3 March (TASR) - No decision has yet been made on the timing of the resumption of operations of the Druzhba oil pipeline, which transported Russian oil to Hungary and Slovakia, Ukrainian Energy Minister Denys Shmyhal told the Novosti.Live television channel on Tuesday, TASR has reported, referring to a story published by the TASS agency.
"[Ukrainian energy company] Naftogaz is currently completing an analysis of the facility failure, after which the costs, timeframe, and resources needed for repairs and restoration of control will be determined," said Shmyhal, adding that the accident at one of the tanks caused significant internal damage to the pipeline, which is not visible from the surface.
Russian oil hasn't been flowing through the Druzhba pipeline to Hungary and Slovakia since 27 January. Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban and Slovak Premier Robert Fico (Smer-SD) suspect Kiev of political blackmail and of interfering in the election campaign in Hungary.
