Bratislava, 3 March (TASR) - The opposition Progressive Slovakia (PS) party has called for Tibor Gaspar (Smer-SD) to step down from his post as parliamentary vice-chair, and it's begun collecting signatures for his dismissal following the arrest of prosecutor from the Prosecutor-General's Office Michal S. [name abbreviated due to legal reasons] on Tuesday, stated PS leader Michal Simecka on the same day. "After today's events, there's no point in waiting any longer. Prosecutor Michal S., who indicted Tibor Gaspar, was taken away by the police directly from the premises of the Prosecutor-General's Office on Tuesday morning. Two days ago, this prosecutor was attacked at the Government Office during a press conference at which Gaspar was present. This is such a huge conflict of interest that there's nothing left to wait for. It isn't possible for Tibor Gaspar to remain as parliamentary vice-chair in a state governed by the rule of law,," stated Simecka. Several police officers from the former National Crime Agency (NAKA) were detained on Tuesday, including Pavol D., Branislav D., Alzbeta F., and prosecutor from the Prosecutor-General's Office Michal S. am/df
