Bratislava, 2 March (TASR) - Police have adopted preventive security measures with respect to the current development of the security situation in the Middle East, with the aim to ensure public order and protect lives, public health and property, Police Corps Presidium spokeserson Lea Vilhanova told TASR on Monday.
Vilhanova said the measures are assessed and analysed by police on a daily basis.
"We are also cooperating with other state security forces and are ready to respond operatively," she said.
The spokesperson declined to specify the nature of the measures for tactical reasons.
The United States and Israel on Saturday (28 February) launched coordinated air and missile strikes on Iranian military and strategic targets. These included the residences of members of the country's leadership in Tehran. Explosions were also reported in other cities, including Qom, Isfahan and Kermanshah. Iran responded with massive retaliatory missile and drone attacks on targets in Israel and on US military facilities in several Middle East countries.
