Bratislava, 1 March (TASR) - The Interior Ministry's Aviation Department is prepared to dispatch the first confirmed repatriation flight from Amman, Jordan, on Tuesday morning (3 March) based on a request from the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs, TASR has learnt from Interior Ministry's spokesperson Matej Neumann.
He explained that the Aviation Department has already secured ground services at Amman airport and holds most of the required diplomatic clearances for overflights and landings. Reciprocal permits are currently pending only from Serbia and Egypt. The flight will be ready within hours of the order and request.
Given the closure of airports and airspaces in the Middle East region, the Interior Ministry stated that it is not yet possible to assume when or if repatriation flights will be dispatched from other areas of the Middle East.
