Rasi: Finding Peaceful Solution to War in Ukraine Will Take Patience

Bratislava, 24 February (TASR) - The price of the war in Ukraine is high, and finding a peaceful solution will take patience and responsibility from all parties involved, House Chair Richard Rasi (Voice-SD) has stated in a stance provided to TASR on Tuesday to mark the fourth anniversary of the start of the war in Ukraine.
Rasi hopes that it won't take much longer before the weapons fall silent and the people of Ukraine can once again live in peace and safety.
"Four long years have now passed since the start of the war in Ukraine. This military conflict involving Russia's invasion of Ukraine is the largest since WWII and has fundamentally disrupted peace and security throughout Europe. It's caused enormous human and material losses. Thousands of lives have been tragically cut short, millions of people have had to leave their homes, and many cities and villages have been turned into rubble," stated Rasi, adding that this war reminds us how fragile security is and how quickly people's lives can change.
Despite the efforts of the international community, a path to peace hasn't been found even after four years, said Rasi. "The fighting goes on, with every day bringing new casualties, suffering for civilians and serious consequences for the entire region," he added.
Even though achieving peace may require tough compromises, its value is unquestionable and can never be surpassed by that of continuing the war, said Rasi, adding that restoring peace is a commitment to future generations.
