Stats: Revenues of Accommodation Facilities Rose to €709 million in 2025

Bratislava, 23 February (TASR) - Tourist accommodation providers in Slovakia posted revenues totalling €709 million (ex-VAT) for 2025, a 15.7-percent increase when compared to 2024, the Statistics Office reported on Monday. Almost 60 percent of the revenues (€442 million) came from domestic clientele, while foreign visitors brought in 40 percent (€287 million). The highest revenues from foreigners, amounting to over €100 million, were posted by Bratislava region, where foreigners accounted for more almost 70 percent of revenues, but they paid less for accommodation than domestic guests in all other regions. The year 2025 was successful for hoteliers in all eight regions of Slovakia, with year-on-year (y-o-y) growth in revenues ranging between 8.2 percent in Nitra region up to 29.7 percent in Zilina region. Double-digit growth was also reported by Trencin region (over 20 percent). The highest revenues, ranging between €137 million and €168 million, were generated by accommodation providers in the three most important tourist regions: Bratislava, Zilina and Presov, which together produced almost 64 percent of total accommodation revenues in Slovakia in 2025. Last year accommodation services in Slovakia were provided by 6,140 facilities, 875 (17 percent) more than in 2024. A total of 85,000 rooms and 260,000 beds (including camping spots) were available. The net occupation rate of permanent beds was 27.1 percent, while the figure was 31.2 percent in the case of rooms. The gradual post-pandemic recovery of the tourism sector was reflected in an annual expansion in accommodation capacity.
