Bratislava, 18 February (TASR) - More than 20,000 Slovaks have already supported the 'Heat for Ukraine' collection, with more than €1.15 million being raised to purchase generators and charging stations for Ukrainian cities that are suffering most from Russian energy terrorism, TASR has been told by Yelyzaveta Derevynska on behalf of the Embassy of Ukraine in Slovakia, which initiated the collection along with its partners. Derevynska stated that 16 generators of various capacities and two sets of charging stations were delivered to Kiev on Friday (13 February). The aid was personally welcomed by the mayor of the capital, Vitali Klitschko. "On behalf of the people of Kiev, I'd like to thank our Slovak friends - 20,000 Slovaks who have collected €1.15 million at a time when Ukraine is facing attacks and struggling with a significant shortage of energy and heat," he emphasised. The stated aim of the 'Heat for Ukraine' collection is to help people in Ukraine cope with the consequences of Russian energy terrorism during the winter. am/df
