Slovak President Arrives for AI Impact Summit in India

New Delhi, 18 February (TASR) – President Peter Pellegrini arrived in the Indian capital of New Delhi on Wednesday, where he'll participate in an international summit on artificial intelligence (AI) called 'the AI Impact Summit', Indian Foreign Affairs Ministry spokesman Randhir Jaiswal has reported on the X social network. "The President of the Slovak Republic, Mr. Peter Pellegrini, has arrived in New Delhi. He was warmly welcomed at the airport by State Secretary Jitendra Singh. President Pellegrini's participation in the AI Impact Summit will further deepen the close and expanding ties between India and Slovakia," Jaiswal has posted on the social network. Pellegrini is scheduled to meet several world leaders on the sidelines of the summit. His programme will also include bilateral talks with Indian Premier Narendra Modi aimed at further strengthening political and economic relations between Slovakia and India, as well as at developing cooperation in the fields of innovation, industry and modern technologies. The Slovak president will also hold a bilateral meeting with the President of Sri Lanka, Anura Kumara Dissanayake. According to the President Office's communications department, this top-level visit sends out a clear signal that the head of state views technological sovereignty, the safe and responsible use of AI and support for innovation as strategic priorities. It will also be an opportunity for Slovakia to promote investment and to strengthen its political visibility within the European Union and in relation to India. ko/df
