Bratislava, 14 February (TASR) - Health-insurance companies operating on the Slovak market ended last year with an aggregate profit of €57.3 million, according to data provided to TASR by Health-care Supervision Office (UDZS) spokesperson Monika Betkova. Preliminary figures show the profit of the state-run Vseobecna zdravotna poistovna (VsZP) at €21.4 million, while private health-insurer Dovera made a profit of €26.2 million, and another private health-insurer, Union zdravotna poistovna (ZP), posted €9.7 million. UDZS noted that all the health-insurance companies meet the solvency requirements and are paying invoices to health-care providers in line with the requirements set by law. As of December 31, 2025, the equity capital of VsZP amounted to €82.3 million, while that of Dovera stood at €231.5 million and that of Union ZP at €33.1 million. Compared to the end of 2025, the equity capital of VsZP and Union ZP changed only by the profit made in 2025. "Despite the profit made last year, the equity capital of Dovera has decreased due to a payout of dividends to shareholders worth €29.4 million," said Betkova. ko/df
