PS: When It Comes to Haciendas and EU Funds, Coalition Doesn't Have Time

Bratislava, 13 February (TASR) - Agriculture Minister Richard Takac (Smer-SD) claimed in Parliament this week that he's willing to defend the so-called 'Hacienda' case before MPs, but when he was given such an opportunity at an extraordinary committee meeting on Friday, it ended like it always does - he didn't keep his word and didn't attend the session, Darina Luscikova, MP and member of the House finance and budget committee for the opposition Progressive Slovakia (PS) party, has stated.
"This week, coalition MPs prevented Parliament from debating the prosecutor-general's report on the state of corruption prosecution. They didn't even attend committee meetings concerning an analysis of regional and district prosecutors that speaks about preventing proper investigations and prosecuting tax fraud. And today, they also ignored the debate on the 'Hacienda' case, which is even being dealt with by the European Public Prosecutor's Office and in which they have a hand," she said.
"At a time when people are counting every cent in their wallets and can clearly see how their salaries are being used to contribute to consolidation, the coalition doesn't want to talk about corruption, tax fraud or haciendas," emphasised Luscikova.
