Rasi: Parliament to Continue Current 46th Session in March Due to Busy Agenda

Bratislava, 13 February (TASR) - Originally scheduled to conclude on Friday, the current 46th parliamentary session will continue in March as well, with MPs expected to adjourn the session on Friday and resume it on Tuesday, 17 March, the Parliament Office's communications department has informed TASR.
"House Speaker Richard Rasi (Voice-SD) will propose a change to Parliament's timetable on Friday ... This will make it possible to extend the ongoing session, which, according to original timetable approved for this year, was supposed to be held over the past three working weeks, with the final session day on 13 February," explained the department.
Rasi defended the move by saying that he wants to provide sufficient time for proper debates on agenda items that Parliament hasn't managed to discuss during this session. In this context, he stressed the need for constructive dialogue.
"My goal is to ensure that Parliament has enough time to debate every proposal submitted by MPs. By deciding to continue the session as of 17 March, we're sending out a clear signal that we're making room for MPs' initiatives that haven't yet been addressed due to the busy agenda," said Rasi.
