Stats: Revenues in Industry Up 0.7 percent Y-o-Y in December 2025

Bratislava, 12 February (TASR) - After two months of decline, revenues in industry, the key sector of the economy, saw a slight increase by 0.7 percent year-on-year (y-o-y) in real terms in December 2025 (in fixed prices, adjusted for inflation), the Statistics Office reported on Thursday.
In monthly terms, revenues in industry (seasonally adjusted) dropped by 1.5 percent.
Twelve of the 16 monitored industrial branches posted y-o-y increases in revenues, primarily in computer products (75.2 percent), metal production (7.7 percent) and the production of coke and oil products (15.8 percent). Conversely, the most significant impact came from declines in electricity and gas supplies and in the production of means of transport.
Revenues in the IT sector increased by 8.5 percent, the second highest rate of growth last year. Construction companies saw a 3.3 percent increase in revenues, while transport and warehousing rose by 2.8 percent. Conversely, revenues in selected market services fell by 3.9 percent, the first decline seen in two years.
In monthly terms (seasonally adjusted), revenues fell in four of the five monitored sectors: in industry by 1.5 percent, in selected market services by 1.7 percent, in transport and warehousing by 0.9 percent, and in construction by 0.6 percent. The only sector to report month-on-month growth in revenues was IT, at 2.2 percent.
