Session on Prosecution of Corruption Won't be Held, MPs Fail to Pass Agenda

Bratislava, 11 February (TASR) - MPs didn't deal with the state of the prosecution of corruption in Slovakia at a special House session on Wednesday morning, as they failed to approve its agenda.
The special session was initiated by the opposition Freedom and Solidarity (SaS) party. It wanted Parliament to adopt a resolution on the "state of criminal prosecution of corruption in Slovakia and on the serious findings of the prosecutor-general (PG)". The party has demanded that PG Maros Zilinka address the session.
The opposition MPs decided to take this step after the parliamentary debate on the PG's report on the activities of the prosecution service in 2024 was once again postponed. Parliament was due to debate the report on Friday (6 February), but the item was moved to a subsequent session in line with a coalition proposal. Maria Kolikova (SaS) also recalled that Zilinka described the state of criminal investigations, particularly into corruption, a few days ago.
