Bratislava, 10 February (TASR) – The country's entire tourism infrastructure will be completely overhauled as part of a tourism development concept in Slovakia, Tourism and Sport Minister Rudolf Huliak (Independent) announced at a press conference on Tuesday. "A tourism development concept is currently being set. We have an EU milestone from the recovery fund under which we must complete e-Visitor and a register of all accommodation providers," said the minister in response to a journalist's question. Huliak, who has been in office for almost a year, since March 2025, was asked about the possible creation of a guarantee fund that could serve as a second layer of protection to compensate clients of bankrupt travel agencies "Give us a bit of time, we'll certainly get to these matters as well," he replied According to the minister, it isn't easy to arrange for the state to cover failed private entities. "It's similar to the state covering non-bank entities and the debtors that emerged there. That hasn't been resolved to this day. So, I don't expect that we'll manage this within the current electoral term," added Huliak regarding the guarantee fund. mf/df
