Bratislava, 3 February (TASR) – The House Conflict of Interest Committee on Tuesday launched proceedings against MP Alojz Hlina (Freedom and Solidarity), TASR learnt from committee chair Veronika Remisova ('Slovakia'-For the People) on the same day.
The proceedings were initiated following a motion from Agriculture Minister Richard Takac (Smer-SD), who claims that Hlina promoted his business activities on social media.
"The committee dealt with a motion from minister Takac concerning MP Hlina, related to the online promotion of the MP's business activities. Committee members voted to launch proceedings," Remisova told TASR.
According to the motion, Hlina allegedly promoted businesses located at the Zelezna studnicka area in Bratislava and in the Old Town Centre on his social media.
At Tuesday's meeting, the committee also addressed a motion concerning STVR general director Martina Flasikova related to a possible conflict of interest in the creation of the STVR logo. "Coalition MPs on the committee did not vote to launch proceedings in this case," the committee chair said.
