Stats: Industrial Producer Prices Down 0.3 percent Y-o-Y in December 2025

Bratislava, 28 January (TASR) - Industrial producer prices for the domestic market decreased by 0.3 percent year-on-year (y-o-y) in December 2025, while going up by 0.3 percent in monthly terms, the Statistics Office reported on Wednesday. Only four of the 16 monitored branches of industry posted price decreases in December. The overall result was most significantly influenced by the energy sector, which has substantial weight in terms of market share, with prices 3.6 percent lower than the year before, and by the production of computer, electronic and optical products, with prices falling by 3 percent. Meanwhile, price increases were reported mainly in the manufacture of transport equipment, up by 2.8 percent, and in the manufacture of metal, up by 3 percent. For the whole of 2025, industrial producer prices for the domestic market were 0.5 percent higher than the year before, with prices increasing in 13 of the 16 industrial branches. Significant growth was posted in the production of transport equipment, up by 2.7 percent, and in the production of food products, beverages and tobacco, up 2.6 percent. Meanwhile, prices in the processing of coke and refined oil products fell by almost 10 percent last year when compared to 2024. Prices of industrial products for export in December were 0.8 percent higher than the year before, but they decreased by 0.5 percent on a monthly basis.
