KDH: Parliament Won't Become More Decent Under New Rules of Procedure

27. januára 2026 19:28
Bratislava, 27 January (TASR) - The opposition's Christian Democratic Movement (KDH) harbors reservations about the coalition-drafted amendment to Parliament's Rules of Procedure and does not expect the change to make the House more decent, arguing that nice suits do not make an honest person, KDH head Milan Majersky stated at a press conference on Tuesday. "Such directives may have been known in totalitarian regimes, and under no circumstances will this proposal make Parliament more decent," Majersky underlined. The Christian Democrats regret that although the coalition initially discussed changes to the Rules of Procedure with the opposition, it failed to incorporate their comments and no compromise was reached on the final version. They also criticised the fact that the proposal is being addressed at the beginning of the parliamentary session. In their view, attention should be paid to more important areas. mf
