Bratislava, 27 January (TASR) - The Holocaust serves as a reminder to all of us to ensure that history is never repeated in such a perverted form, President Peter Pellegrini stated in a post on social media to mark International Holocaust Remembrance Day on Tuesday. According to the president, innocent victims of an ideology that created the symbol of the 'superior human' perished in the factories of death established by the fascist regime. "Today we are witnessing attempts to rewrite history, leading to a battle for historical truth. Therefore, it's more important than ever to value the testimony of those times and do our best to ensure that these perverted ideas never find their followers. It is an imperative that should guide each one of us," added the head of state. January 27 is commemorated as the International Holocaust Remembrance Day, symbolically tied to the liberation of Auschwitz-Birkenau death camp in 1945. ko
