Bratislava, 26 January (TASR) - The Prosecutor-General's (PG) Office has filed 32 lawsuits with the Administrative Court in Bratislava after Health Minister Kamil Sasko (Voice-SD) failed to respond to PG Maros Zilinka's protests regarding the ambulance services tender.
"The lawsuits (32) have been filed with the Administrative Court in Bratislava," Zilinka has posted on a social network.
The PG announced his intention to file the lawsuits in early January, explaining that the health minister had failed to remedy fundamental breaches of the law that had taken on the nature of a series of unlawful acts.
Sasko at that time maintained that the ministry had acted correctly and that it was ready to defend its decision concerning the cancellation of the tender in court.
Opposition parties at that time reacted by once again criticising the ministry's procedure regarding the matter.
The tender for operating emergency medical service ambulances was announced by the Emergency Medical Service Operations Centre in May 2025. The tender was heavily criticised by the opposition and part of the coalition for its lack of transparency. The Operations Centre cancelled it in August. Zilinka announced last November that the ministry had proceeded with the licensing process for operating emergency medical service ambulances in violation of the law, and he filed protests. Sasko argued that the state hasn't incurred any financial damage and that the ministry acted with the aim of protecting public funds.
