Bratislava, 22 January (TASR) - Prime Minister Robert Fico (Smer-SD) met with Cuban Vice-premier and Foreign Trade and Investment Minister Oscar Perez-Oliva Fraga at the Government Office on Thursday, the press and information department of the Government Office told TASR on Thursday, adding that Fico is planning to visit Cuba. "Prime Minister Robert Fico expresses his conviction that the unpredictable domestic political situation in Slovakia, the international situation, and unprecedented tensions won't prevent him from visiting Cuba in 2026. Slovakia's priority is to involve Slovak entrepreneurs more significantly in the opportunities created in Cuba by a number of reform measures. For this reason, such a visit to Cuba should include a large business mission from Slovakia," stated the Government Office. According to Fico, there are no outstanding political issues between Slovakia and Cuba, "which is why, in a spirit of mutual respect, they are interested in developing friendly and mutually beneficial economic relations". am
