Rasi Meets Vice-president of Italian Senate, EU Issues Also Discussed

Rome, 20 January (TASR) - Parliamentary Chair Richard Rasi (Voice-SD) held talks with Mariolina Castellone, the Vice-president of the Italian Senate, in Rome on Tuesday.
Among other things, they discussed mutual cooperation and European Union (EU) issues, and they also addressed the issue of involving young people in public life. According to Rasi, the meeting confirmed the high level of relations between the two countries.
"We discussed several areas with the Vice-president of the Italian Senate, Castellone. We spoke about working with Italy, which is our strategic trading partner, to find joint solutions to the problems posed by the EU and what's happening in the world," Rasi told reporters in Rome.
Competitiveness, security and the future of the EU were discussed, and the politicians also addressed issues related to migration. There was a debate on strengthening cooperation between the parliaments of the two countries.
According to him, the meeting confirmed the mutual interest in developing bilateral relations at all levels. "Such negotiations also strengthen a partnership that has solid foundations and a clear perspective for the future," he stated.
The House chair is paying an official visit to Italy on Tuesday and on Wednesday (21 January), when he's set to meet President of the Italian Chamber of Deputies Lorenzo Fontana.
