Bratislava, 18 January (TASR) - The city of Trencin has made it onto the prestigious list of Europe's Top 10 cities worth visiting in 2026, as compiled by renowned travel magazine 1000thingsmagazine.com, national tourism promotion organisation Slovakia Travel reported earlier this week. The magazine highlighted Trencin primarily in connection with its title as European Capital of Culture 2026. According to Slovakia Travel, Trencin's inclusion in the European ranking confirms the growing interest among international media in Slovakia as an attractive and modern destination with an authentic cultural story. "The year 2026 is an exceptional opportunity for Trencin to show the world that Slovakia has much to offer not only in terms of its natural beauty, but also through its vibrant and contemporary culture," stated Slovakia Travel general director Matej Fekete. Fekete said that Trencin as the European Capital of Culture is uniting history and modern creativity, local traditions and international dialogue, as well as authentic experiences and openness to the world. "A visit to Trencin in 2026 isn't just a journey seeking culture; it's an invitation to experience Slovakia in its most inspiring form," he added.
