Bratislava, 16 January (TASR) - The value of new orders in Slovak industry fell by 3.2 percent year-on-year in November 2025 to €5.9 billion, making it the seventh month to see a drop in 2025, albeit with the rate of decline easing considerably when compared to the previous month, the Statistics Office reported on Friday. Adjusted for seasonal effects, new orders in industry dropped by 1 percent in November 2025 when compared to October 2025. Year-on-year declines were recorded in seven of the twelve industrial sectors monitored on a monthly basis. The overall result was mainly attributable to a drop in orders in the manufacture of motor vehicles, trailers and semi-trailers (down 8.6 percent), in metal production and processing (5.5 percent), and in the manufacture of metal structures excluding machinery and equipment (3 percent). Conversely, year-on-year growth was primarily seen in the manufacture of unclassified machinery and equipment (up 16.9 percent), in the production of other transport equipment (100.3 percent), and in the manufacture of computer, electronic and optical products (11.4 percent). jrg/df
