Bratislava, 14 January (TASR) - At its away-from-home session held in Bratislava's borough of Petrzalka on Wednesday, the government allocated over €3.5 million, with some €1.5 million designated for local government projects and the needs of organisations and institutions operating in Bratislava and in the district of Senec. The package also includes more than €2 million for completing the renovation of a national cultural monument: Szitnyay House in Banska Stiavnica (Banska Bystrica region). Of the €1.5 million allocated for the capital city and Senec district, €500,000 has been earmarked for specific projects of local governments and organisations in Senec district and in Bratislava’s city districts. The rest is intended for bigger regional projects, such as €100,000 to support the Interior Ministry's project aimed at protecting women, children and others titled 'At Which Stop Do You Feel Safe Thanks to the Introduction of a Camera Surveillance System?'. The government also approved €70,000 for reconstructing a building and the operating costs of the Zdeno Ciger Ice-hockey Academy. Meanwhile, the cabinet approved €50,000 for renovating rooms and sanitary facilities at the Clinic of Paediatric Ophthalmology at the National Institute of Children's Diseases (NUDCH). Bratislava Regional Authority will be able to use €50,000 to build a garden at Senec Synagogue. The government approved a contribution of €40,000 for restoration work and repairs of the major war memorial at Slavin. The same amount will be allocated to Bratislava's borough of Devin for revitalising the Gate of Freedom memorial. The resolution also includes specific tasks for individual ministries and their heads that should contribute towards developing the capital city and the district of Senec. Environment Minister Tomas Taraba (a Slovak National Party/SNS nominee) should prepare, by the end of the year, an analysis of current application problems and a draft solution to speed up and streamline processes involved in removing old vehicle wrecks on public roads and spaces. Transport Minister Jozef Raz (a Smer-SD nominee) should ensure that the expanded section of the D1-motorway section between Bratislava and Triblavina is open to traffic by the end of July. ko/df
