Stats: Nominal Salaries Up by More than 5 percent in Half of Sectors in November

Bratislava, 12 January (TASR) - Nominal monthly salaries increased year-on-year (y-o-y) in nine of the ten monitored sectors in November 2025, with the rate of growth ranging from 2.7 percent in accommodation up to 6.6 percent in pubs and restaurants, the Statistics Office reported on Monday. Nominal salaries grew by more than 5 percent in half of the monitored sectors in November. Employees engaged in the sale and repair of motor vehicles were the only ones to see a drop of 1.8 percent in their nominal salaries, for the first time since March 2021. When considering inflation, real salaries increased y-o-y in eight of the ten sectors. Salary developments ranged from a decrease of 5.3 percent in the sale and repairs of motor vehicles up to growth of 2.8 percent in pubs and restaurants. Real salaries also grew by more than 2 percent y-o-y in retail and in selected market services. In the first eleven months of 2025, meanwhile, salaries increased y-o-y in nominal terms across all ten monitored sectors, and in real terms in nine of them. Real salary developments ranged from a drop of 1.2 percent in selected market services up to growth of 4.5 percent in pubs and restaurants. ko/df
