Slovak Hotels and Guest Houses Accommodated 467,000 Tourists in November 2025

Bratislava, 12 January (TASR) - The number of people staying in tourist accommodation facilities in Slovakia rose by 8.4 percent year-on-year (y-o-y) to 467,000 in November 2025, the Statistics Office reported on Monday, adding that this was the most successful November for accommodation provides since the pandemic. Slovak hotels, guest houses and other accommodation facilities lacked mere 2.7 percent to match the record set in the pre-pandemic month of November 2019. Guests spent almost 1.1 million nights in hotels and guest houses in November, up 7.1 percent from the year before, with the average length of stay equalling 2.3 nights. Domestic clientele made up almost two thirds of all visitors, with their number going up by 4.6 percent to 307,000 in November. However, the figure was still 4.4 percent below the figure for the pre-pandemic month of November 2019. The number of foreign visitors accommodated in Slovak facilities went up as much as by 16.6 percent y-o-y to 160,000, compare to 137,000 posted a year ago. This figure even slightly (by 0.8 percent) exceeded the record set in November 2019. November brought y-o-y improvement to accommodation providers in all eight regions of the country. The number of visitors increased from 2.4 percent in Trnava region up to 18.1 percent in Zilina region. Bratislava region has long recorded the highest number of accommodated guests (more than 126,000). Zilina region attacked the 100,000-visitor threshold with 98,000 guests accommodated in November. Almost 5.9 million guests were accommodated in tourism facilities in the first eleven months of 2025. This was a y-o-y increase of 6.8 percent, with the number of foreigners growing more dynamically than the number of domestic guests. ko
