Police Charge Romanian National in Case of Robbery of Jeweller's in November

Bratislava, 8 January (TASR) - A Bratislava police investigator has charged 35-year-old Romanian national Pop V. (name abbreviated due to legal reasons) in absentia with robbery in conjunction with the misdemeanour of damaging someone else's property in connection with a jewellery robbery that took place at a Bratislava shopping centre in November, TASR learnt from Bratislava region police spokeswoman Silvia Simkova on Thursday.
The spokesperson explained that the decision to charge Pop V. must now be delivered to another country, and it will be necessary to wait for the security forces there to take action.
"At around 6.08 p.m. on 30 November 2025, along with at least six accomplices dressed in white full-body overalls with their faces covered, he carried out the robbery of a jeweller's shop in a shopping centre ... causing damage by stealing various pieces of jewellery and damaging property worth approximately €856,000," said the spokeswoman.
Simkova stated that if found guilty, the accused will face a prison sentence of between 7-12 years. He added that the police are still searching for the other perpetrators and the stolen jewellery.
