Bratislava, 6 January (TASR) - Matus Sutaj Estok (Voice-SD) is a weak interior minister, he hasn't uncovered anything and needs someone to blame, Government Proxy for Investigating COVID-19 Pandemic Management Peter Kotlar told TASR on Tuesday, adding that without him, the minister wouldn't even have the data that he "refuses to work with".
"He doesn't even understand the technical aspects of the matter, resulting in nonsensical state budget expenditures. He doesn't want to countenance the responsibility belonging to original employees from the COVID-19 era because they are now serving as employees of the ministry led by Voice-SD," stated Kotlar.
According to him, the minister is free to ask Prime Minister Robert Fico (Smer-SD) to dismiss a government proxy. Kotlar added that he hasn't been given sufficient powers by the government, which is just keeping him in office to submit a report that would show what can be found out "from practically no position".
"Sutaj Estok shouldn't judge the level and scope of my knowledge and procedures. He's free to continue describing my powers; I'll consider what further evidence can be secured. Let the 'Master of the Interior' prove that he's a man of action, let him convince the voters that law, order and justice have a firm place in our country," stated Kotlar, urging the minister to refrain from meddling in his powers, as he doesn't meddle in his.
Sutaj Estok has said in an interview for TASR that Kotlar should deliver the results that the government expects from him, and if he's unable to do this, he should be replaced. According to the minister, it's about time that Kotlar complied with his meaningful agenda.
